Saaf Roi

saafroi1

Saaf Roi (Let’s stay clean!) is a 360° communication campaign working to implement a comprehensive set of Behavior Change and Community Engagement interventions in Cox’s Bazar in order to raise awareness and improve hygiene behavior in response to Covid-19.

Implemented by ARBAN Center for Communication Action Bangladesh, and supported by UKAid, Unilever and the International Rescue Committee, the project is aligned with the overall GoB and UN-led activities related to Covid-19.

As part of the Saaf Roi project, C-CAB produced highly contextualized Public Service Announcement (PSA) and Information Education and Communication (IEC) material. We engaged the community, especially women and youth, through Entertainment Education, Mass Media, Digital Media and Social Media outreach; Household counselling, and through Community Influencers such as Imams, priests and pastors.

Approach

C-CAB believes in information as a root solution. From health to agriculture to human rights, accurate, timely and actionable information will empower communities and enable them to make the right decisions for themselves and their families.

We harness the power of media and communication to bring about social and individual behavior change. Research shows that simply providing information does not always induce behavior change. C-CAB uses a systematic, evidence-based and result-oriented strategic process to promote positive and measurable individual behavior and social change that is key to achieving the objectives of development programs, policy advocacy and humanitarian work.

Our interventions aim to empower communities by fostering the free flow of ideas, access to information and knowledge and the ability to make their voices heard.
